Daihatsu 2008

This is a creative example of what you can do with type and symbols. This is a really nice add because it shows important things (what the product is, who makes it, and the year of the model) about an add without showing the product. You can tell it's a car add just by recognizing the speedometer symbol. Not to mention the designer put on a chrome type treatment that adds to the aesthetic.

The skill of a blade and a pen...

A Walcom Pen that is! Walcom tablets are completely amazing especially when Caio Cacau, from Sao Paulo, gets a hold of one and creates a masterpiece like this! If you're a comic book lover like me (especially for the art styles!) then you'll know how much computer art programs like Photoshop and Painter have changed the Super Hero world making it even that much cooler.

Coca-Cola

I thought this was a wonderful example of illustrator art, not to mention it's very eye catching and very different for coca-cola. Some of the little characters are really quite interesting. This must've been really fun to have made.

The Joy of it All

This is my most favorite photograph ever called "Joy". To this day this piece still absolutely amazes me and it wasn't even that complicated! It's done by a young man in Ohio named Peter Kobak (Yes it's Kobak, not Kodak- that would be pretty darn cool if it was Kodak, and very appropriate!). What I love most about this piece is the angle, the focus, the clarity and the spot color! Also the dimensions of the photograph are unique and different. But you have got to love that kid in the yellow!

Where's Waldo?

Well ok, even though the artist claims that Waldo is somewhere behind that balloon in the distance, this piece really has nothing to do with Waldo. Except for maybe the style. I admire illustrations like this- black lines and simple color. In this case, the 22 year old Bulgarian artist, Denny, used the wonderful dodge and burn tool (my most favorite way of coloring!) and flat coloring to create this exciting illustration. I love the energy, the expression and the skill put into this piece a lot.

Jean-Sébastien Monzani

As far as creative arts, I think Europe is brimming with wonderfully talented artist including Jean-Sébastien Monzani from Switzerland. He's a photographer that has taken his photography to the next level- to books, websites, and posters. One of his more recent series of photographs is called "rebirth". I find that not only are these photographs practicly perfect, they are trillions of times more creative with the ps painted elements on them. The painted element actually reminds me of commercials in which they do this. I could see this as one of those, maybe even a jeans commercial.

Can Somebody say Holy Cow!

Ok there comes a point in our lives when we see the work of another artist and our jaws drop and "holy crapAmoly!" comes out when we see a piece that absolutely just floors us. This is an artist by the name of Chobi who creates art that makes you drop your jaw. Her art is all illustration done on illustrator and each of her pieces just amazes more and more. I would love to one day be able to create art as amazing as Chobi does on illustrator. The details are really quite simple but what she does with the color and patterns is just brilliant. They're vibrant playful and just gorgeous to the eye.
